On-Site Flat Tire Repair
Puncture repair at your location when the damage is in the tread and repairable, not the sidewall.
A flat tire on a rental driveway or halfway across the sand isn’t the same problem as a flat tire in your own garage. You don’t have a jack that fits the terrain, you may not have cell signal to call for a ride, and the nearest tire shop could be a real drive away. North Beach Recovery comes to you — we repair what can be repaired on the spot, and if the tire’s done, we mount and balance a new one right where your vehicle is parked.
We’ve worked on tires in Corolla for over 30 years, on everything from a sedan with a nail in it to a Jeep that just came off the dunes with a sidewall cut from a shell or a piece of driftwood.

We look at the tire before we quote anything: A puncture in the tread is usually repairable. A cut in the sidewall, or damage from driving on a flat, usually isn’t — no shop can safely patch that, and we’ll tell you straight if yours falls in that category.
If it can be repaired, we do it on-site: Plug or patch, checked for a proper seal, and you’re back on the road without a trip anywhere.
If it needs replacing, we mount and balance the new one at your location: No towing the car to a shop and waiting.
We check the spare and the other three tires while we’re there: A flat is sometimes a sign the other tires are close behind it — worth knowing before it happens again on the way home.
If you're driving a 4x4 on the beach, tire pressure is the difference between smooth sand driving and getting stuck. Most visitors air down to somewhere around 15–20 PSI for soft sand —
running highway pressure on the beach is one of the most common reasons we get called out for a stuck vehicle, not an actual flat. Just as important: air back up to normal street pressure before you get back on pavement, since underinflated tires on the highway wear unevenly and heat up fast.
If you're not sure what pressure your specific vehicle should run on the sand, ask us when we're out on a call — it's a quick answer and it can save you a tow.
If you're seeing any of these before a beach trip or a long drive, it's worth having it looked at rather than hoping it holds.
Puncture repair at your location when the damage is in the tread and repairable, not the sidewall.
New tire mounted and properly torqued at your vehicle, whether that's a single replacement or a full set.
Balanced after every install so you're not driving home with a vibration you didn't have before.
Pressure guidance for sand driving, and repair or replacement for tires damaged on the beach access roads or dunes.
We'll check that your spare is actually usable before you need it, not after.
North Beach Recovery is a family-run operation, not a call center routing you to a random contractor. The same crew that handles tire calls also handles towing and beach recovery across Corolla, so whoever shows up has already changed a tire on that same stretch of beach road more times than they can count.

Was loading my truck up with my toddler sleeping in the car seat and shut the driver door and the doors locked. It was 10:30 pm called 911 to which they sent chase @ North Beach recovery. Chase was super fast and efficient and has the doors back open in 2 mins. Highly recommend them for your needs while on the 4x4 or surrounding areasPosted on Google Martin ChavezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Took my 4x4 RV on the beach. Ended up with an overheated transmission and lost all the fluid. The guys here had me out by the end of the day and we're able to get the RV moving again in a couple days! Highly recommend!Posted on Google M OTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Above and beyond service! Highly recommend!Posted on Google Jace ValverdeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My valve stems were corroded and I couldn’t get my valve stem caps off to air down. Chase is the man, he made it to me in quick timing and got my valve stems off no problem! Great guy and highly recommend.Posted on Google Laura FTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. HIGHLY recommend North Beach Recovery!!!! Chase was fantastic. We were staying at a house on the 4x4 beach without a 4x4 vehicle, great price on parking at his lot for the week, he transported us and was BEYOND accommodating. Very easy to work with and would DEFINITELY use his services again!Posted on Google Greyson ColeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the best experience with Chase! I found a nail in my tire while on vacation in Corolla, and he came right to our rental house. He was incredibly communicative from the moment we called, arrived quickly, and had the tire patched in no time. He even topped off the air in the tire at no extra charge. Professional, knowledgeable, and an absolute gentleman. If you find yourself needing roadside tire service in the Outer Banks, Chase is the person to call. He completely turned a stressful situation into an easy one. Highly recommend!Posted on Google Latasha HollowayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This company does not deserve such a high rating. I called for assistance, and their representative answered “Talk”. No Hello or stating the company name…very unprofessional. Also the verbiage on where not to park is just ambiguous enough so they can get away with charging close to $300 to remove a boot. Obviously a “money grab” especially during the summer season in Corolla. Then showed up an hour after the time stated the rep would arrive. We rented the property through Village Realty and made sure not park in the parking space overnight.Posted on Google Elizabeth MangioneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We rented a van from Enterprise and was told it was AWD (which I now realize is much different than 4WD) and got 100 ft in on Corolla Beach and got stuck. Chase confirmed it was only 2WD and towed us back to the road. We had 7 kids with us and it was a Sunday evening past 6 PM and no way to get to our beach house. We had driven from Clevland, OH and had been in the car since 4:30 that morning—it was quite the adventure! Chase had an Excursion for us to rent for the rest of the week because Enterprise had nothing to swap for us. I am so grateful for all of his help because I’m not sure we could have stayed to enjoy our vacation because we would have had no way to get to the house! Him and his son were so kind and I’m so thankful to both of them!Posted on Google Dan McManusTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A young fella named Chase saved our bacon out on the beach. He was very efficient and friendly. I had my wife and three kids in the car and he hooked us up. A real stand up guy, thanks Chase!
Repair or replacement pricing depends on the tire size and whether it's a patch or a full new tire — we're not going to guess a number here that doesn't match your vehicle. What we do promise: you get the price before we start the work, not as a surprise on the invoice after.
We tell you when a tire can't be saved. Patching a sidewall cut isn't safe, even if it looks minor, and we won't do it just to make a quick sale. If it needs replacing, we'll say so.
We know the beach roads, not just the pavement. Sand driving damages tires differently than city driving does — we see it every season and know what to look for.
One call handles the whole situation. If a flat turns into something bigger — you're stuck in the sand, or the battery's drained too — we handle all of it without you calling around.
North Beach Recovery provides mobile tire service throughout Corolla, NC and the surrounding areas of Currituck County, including Knotts Island and the northern Outer Banks beach communities. If you're unsure whether you're in range, call and ask — it’s a quick answer.
Tell us what’s happening with your vehicle and where you’re located. Our team will review your message and get back to you with clear guidance on the next step.
Most tread punctures can be repaired right where your vehicle is parked — no shop visit needed. Sidewall damage is the exception; that requires a full tire replacement for safety, and we'll tell you clearly which category yours falls into before doing any work.
Yes. If your tire needs replacing rather than repairing, we mount and balance the new one at your location.
A general rule is every 5,000 to 8,000 miles, but if you're driving regularly on the beach, check them more often — sand and salt exposure speeds up wear in ways city driving doesn't.
Emergency roadside calls are what we mainly handle. Call when it happens — you don't need to schedule ahead.
Yes. If you're stuck rather than flat, that's a beach recovery call, and we handle both from the same visit if needed.
Most 4x4 vehicles run well around 15–20 PSI on soft sand, but the right number depends on your specific vehicle and tire size. Ask us directly and we'll give you a number for your vehicle — and remind you to air back up before driving on pavement again.
No. A patch or plug only works on tread punctures. A cut, bubble, or bulge on the sidewall means the tire needs to be replaced — repairing it wouldn't be safe at highway speed.
A flat tire doesn’t wait for a convenient moment, and on a beach access road it can turn into a bigger problem fast. Call us and tell us where you are — home, a rental driveway, or the sand. We’ll look at the tire, tell you honestly whether it’s a repair or a replacement, and take care of it on the spot.
